LISMORE HERITAGE TOWN – Tourism Website

The towns visual identity came about following a design competition entitled ‘Brand Lismore’, on which I was the advisor to the judging panel, featuring the work of third year students from four colleges from around the country. The competition was initiated by the Lismore Marketing Committee a small group of like minded business people who wanted to raise the profile of Lismore as a tourist destination, starting with a brand identity that would represent the town on all future marketing materials.

The colleges put forward the design solutions of their top five students to be exhibited where upon the public could view and cast votes on their choice for the winning identity. The judges, who had the final say, and taking the public votes into consideration, chose – Laura Keane a student from WIT as the overall winner.

Application of the Identity across all planned promotional and marketing materials decided upon by the committee was my responsibility following the competition. I brought Laura in to work with me on this phase so that she could see through the process that saw her design play its intended role – from inception to application. Using the visual identity we branded a line of materials and point of sale that would be used in the promotion activities for the town.

Red Heaven Design designed the tourism destination website lismoreheritagetown.ie with the Lismore Heritage Company in the subsequent months with a view to being a resource for tourists, and platform for local businesses and community groups.
