You hear about them on the radio, watch and engage with them on your T.V. and digital devices, even wear them as a mark of your loyalty. Brands are ubiquitous and invisible all at the same time. But what does ‘branding’ mean? In short, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates you from your competitors. Your brand represents who you are, who you want to be and what people perceive you to be. Think of it as ‘Telling your Story’. This is the first step in your journey.
Knowing who you are communicating your story to, then defining your brand strategy so that it is clear and consistent is where we go from there. Choosing an appropriate name for your service or product is of paramount importance. Designing a strong logo / identity, which will visually represent your brand and most likely be the first point of contact for prospective customers also prepares a solid foundation for your brand. Indeed, implementing your brand strategy across all customer touch points like your website, advertising, social media, product packaging, stationery, offices/retail outlet, vehicles and work wear – should your employees engage directly with customers – insures continuity and delivers a clear message.
